Batman TV

Batman is a cult TV show from the sixties based on the DC comics. With this kind of heritage, it's easy to see why the dark knight slot is such a classic!

It stars Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin — two super-heroes who defend Gotham City. It was initially shown on ABC from January 12, 1966 to March 14, 1968. And since then, this cult classic has practically been on repeat!

Batman TV episodes

The episodes (120 in totall) were pretty formulaic. Wht change a successful script? A baddie commits a crime. Commissioner Gordon and Chief O'Hara worl out who was behind the theft or whatever. Commissioner Gordon the gets hold of the Caped Crusader on the Batphone, where Alfred (the butler) answers in Wayne Manor.Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, would be chatting to Dick's aunt, Harriet Cooper, and their butler Alfred would discreetly tell them they were wanted on the Batphone.

After a short briefing on the phone, Wayne would flick a switch hidden in a bust of Shakespeare on his desk, to reveal 2 Batpoles. The it was off to The Batcave, and off to fight the criminals.

Robin was found of saying "Holy (whatever), Batman!" (see our list of the best batman phrase), whenever he ran into something crazy.
